Export a Final Draft file

Save a copy of the script as a .fdx file.

  1. Choose File > Export > Final Draft, or click Export in the toolbar and choose Final Draft.
  2. Enter a name, choose where to save the file, then click Save. The file has the .fdx extension.

Note: Exporting creates a new file from the script. If you opened the script from a Final Draft file, the export doesn’t include the revisions, locked pages, or tags that the original file keeps. To give someone the complete file, send the original .fdx instead. See Send a script to a Final Draft user.
