If Omit Scene is dimmed
Why a scene can’t be omitted, and what to check.
Omit Scene is available only when eDraft can save the omission. Check the following:
- The script is a Final Draft file (.fdx). eDraft scripts (.draft) and Fountain files can’t store omitted scenes. To see the reason, hold the pointer over Format > Omit Scene.
- The insertion point is in a scene. Omit Scene is dimmed above the first scene heading.
- The scene heading has text. A scene with an empty heading can’t be omitted.
- The line isn’t already an OMITTED card. On a card, the command is Restore Scene.
If a Final Draft file’s omitted scenes can’t be matched to its text, eDraft turns omitting off for that file and gives the reason in the same place.
