How eDraft saves notes

Notes are saved in the script file itself.

Notes are saved in the script file itself, so they go wherever the file goes.

  • In an eDraft script (.draft), notes are saved inside the file, apart from the script’s text.
  • In a Fountain file, a note is saved as text in double brackets, [[like this]], just before its line.
  • In a Final Draft file, a note is saved as a Final Draft note titled [eDraft], with your name as its author.
  • Notes that came from Final Draft stay exactly as they were.

Notes never print and aren’t part of the script’s pages.
